Canadian Bars aka Nanaimo Bars

Step One:

  • 1/2 cup melted butter;
  • 1/4 cup sugar;
  • 1 egg beaten;
  • 1 cup fine coconut;
  • 5 tbsp. cocoa;
  • 1 tbsp. vanilla;
  • 1 1/2 cup chopped nuts;
  • 2 cups crushed graham crackers

Press fimly in 9 X 9 pan and chill 1 - 2 hours

Step Two:

  • 2 cups powdered sugar;
  • 1/4 cup whipping cream (not whipped);
  • 1/4 cup melted butter;
  • 2 tbsp. custard powder / instant pudding

Spread over Part One and chill

Step Three:

  • 4 squares semi sweet chocolate;
  • 1 tbsp. butter

Melt and spread over top of Part Two. Chill and cut into squares. Cut before chocolate hardens completely or it will crack. Store in freezer. Courtesy Arianne Lesh.
